Immunomodulatory Effects of Lectin and TLRs Signaling Pathway

  • Lectins are widely distributed in nature, and many types of lectins have been isolated and extracted. In recent years, with the deepening of research on lectins, various biological activities of lectins have been discovered. Lectins have the functions of anti-tumor,immune regulation, promotion of mitosis,anti-virus,and resistance to diseases and insects. The anti-tumor and immune regulation have attracted wide attention of scholars. Toll-like receptors act on the surface of immune cells and play an important role in the process of immune regulation. This article describes the lectin, the outlined TLR signaling pathway and their immunomodulatory effects, which would provide a reference for the development and utilization of lectin in immunomodulation and health care products.
