Abstract
Obesity and related metabolic syndromes have become public health problems in the world. It has shown that intestinal flora is closely related to the formation of obesity, and dysregulation of intestinal flora could influence on lipid metabolism, intestinal permeability, and oxidative stress. Probiotics (mainly including lactic acid bacteria and bifidobacteria) are microorganisms that could have beneficial effects on the physiological functions of the host, survive and colonize the intestine, improve intestinal flora, and further alleviate the formation of obesity. In this paper, the intervention effect of probiotics on obesity and its related mechanisms were reviewed, so as to provide references for obesity-related research.
