Abstract
Mercury and arsenic, as two typical toxic elements in the environment, are considered to be the most common pollutants which harm the human body through a long-term, chronic poisoning process. Compared with vascular plants, macro fungi showed significant accumulating capacity to metals and some metalloids, including mercury, arsenic, and so on.This paper reviewed the levels of mercury and arsenic in the edible mushrooms and their distribution in the fruiting body, and focused on the bioaccumulation and health risk assessment.
