Research progress in the transportationand absorption of cholesterol and other lipids by dietary mixed micelles

Prevalence of cardiovascular disease has become a serious threat tomodern people's health,which is closely related to the dietary lipids intake. Ingested dietary lipids,such as cholesterol need solubilization in the “Dietary Mixed micelles”( DMM) before they are absorbed and metabolized in the body.The formation,structure features and transport mechanism of the lipid digestion and absorption through DMM transportation in human gastrointestinal tract were focused in this review. The research development of the in vitro models for the detection of cholesterol transportation were also depicted.
