Progress in collagen peptide and its applications

In recent years,the collagen peptide industry in our country develops rapidly.Collagen peptide is derived from collagen and widely used for its unique properties.Collagen peptide is usually sold as health product,and it will have good prospect of application in health- care food and cosmetics industry. In this paper,the basic component,properties,biological activities and applications of collagen and collagen peptide were reviewed.
