Abstract
Bile salt hydrolase( BSH),the enzyme deconjugating bile potentially plays an important role in reduction of blood cholesterol level, which has received a widespread attention. In this study, the recombinant Lactobacillus plantarum ST-Ⅲ were constructed by overexpressing four BSH genes and the BSH enzyme activities were determined. The result showed that L.plantarum ST-Ⅲ harboring BSH1 had a higher enzyme activity than the other three strains, then was the strains harboring BSH3 and BSH2,and the lowest activity was shown in ST-Ⅲoverexpressing BSH4,which indicated that the BSH1 might play a more important role in the hydrolysis of the conjuncted bile salts, then was BSH3,BSH2 and BSH4 successively.
