Study on the preparation and characterization of modified phenolic resin adhesive by rice straw lignin

  • In this paper,the lignin of rice straw,as a raw material,was used to synthetize lignin phenolic resin adhesive.Compared with the traditional phenolic resin adhesive,the lignin phenolic resin adhesive used low content of free formaldehyde( phenol) and excellent biodegradability. The effect of formaldehyde and urea content on quality of the lignin modified phenolic resin adhesive was discussed,i.e.the free phenol content,free formaldehyde content,the viscosity and the agglutination intensity. This method not only was feasible to take advantage of agricultural waste,but also improved the performance of phenolic resin adhesive.
