  • Liposomes were commonly investigated as vehicles and utilized in medicine and cosmetic industries because of their good biocompatibility and biodegradability. Nonetheless,their poor stability during storage and gastrointestinal environment greatly limited their application.One of the strategies was to modify the liposomes with polyelectrolytes using Layer- by- layer assembly technology. In this review,the factors that influenced the self-assembly process,the characterization of Layer- by- layer constructs and the contribution of Lb L self- assembly to liposome were discussed.
