Study on the improvement of Prunus mume extracts for the gout and hyperuricemia

  • The improvement of Prunus mume extracts for the gout and hyperuricemia was studied in this paper.The gout mice were given different doses of Prunus mume extracts in advance, the results indicated that the Prunus mume extracts in low dose could make the serum uric acid ( SUA) levels significantly reduced by 60.3% ( p < 0.05) in mice. Given Prunus mume extracts for ten days, the SUA in gout mice were reduced by 49.9% ( p < 0.01) ;1140mg /kg was the best dose for Prunus mume extracts to prevent the gout in mice.The serum uric acid ( SUA) levels significantly was reduced by 33.9% ( p < 0.05) under this dose. Conclusion: the dose of Prunus mume in1140 mg /kg can significantly improve the gout and hyperuricemia in mice.
