Abstract
Agaricus blazei polysaccharide immediate release tablets were prepared through wet granulation and compression methods. Central composite design- response surface methodology was applied to optimize the formulation with the amount of Agaricus blazei polysaccharide, croscarmellose sodium and hydroxypropylcellulose as independent variables, while disintegrating time was the evaluated index. The experimental data were analyzed to fit multivariate linear equation and second-order polynomial equation.Quadratic multinomial models were better than multivariate linear models. The optimum formulation ( 200mg tablet weight) was obtained as 27.54%polysaccharide, 7.79% croscarmellose sodium, 4.17% hydroxypropylcellulose, 59.5% microcrystalline cellulose and1% talcum powder.According to the formulation, 3 batches of Agaricus blazei polysaccharide immediate release tablets were prepared successfully with perfect quality, indicating the optimized formulation was reasonable for preparation of the tablets.
