Application of essential oils in the edible antimicrobial films

  • This article introduced the type and antimicrobial mechanism of edible antimicrobial films, and summarized the extract method, chemical composition, antimicrobial mechanism of essential oils as well as it's influence on the edible antimicrobial films property and its application on food preservation in recent years. This work also analyzed the possible problems as essential oils applied in the edible antimicrobial films, and its developing prospect.
