Microwave-assisted extraction of arctiin and arctigenin from Fructus Arctii

  • The extraction of arctiin and arctigenin from Fructus Arctii was investigated.The microwave-assisted extraction progress of arctiin and arctigenin were studied to get the optimum conditions by single factor and orthogonal experiments.The content of arctiin and arctigenin were determined by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method.The optimum conditions were 40% ethanol concentration, 500W microwave power, 1∶15 of material to liquid ratio, 200s extraction time, extraction 3 times.Under these conditions, the yields of arctiin and arctigenin were 7.14% and 0.53%, RSDs were 0.49% and 1.06%, respectively.When the optimal conditions were magnified 10 times, the yields of arctiin and arctigenin were 6.84% and 0.54%, respectively.Thus, the optimal conditions are reasonable and reliable.
