Research progress in Gallic acid from Galla Chinensis

Galla Chinensis is our country forest special product, and its gallic tannins can be hydrolysed under the reaction of acid, alkali and enzyme.Gallic acid is a natural polyphenol material.It has many biological activities, such as anti-caries, antioxidant and antimicrobial activities, etc.Besides, it is applied in field of medicine and food.This paper reviewed the preparation, determination and biological activity of Gallic acid from Galla Chinensis.
