Abstract
Fresh-cut lettuce and cabbage were taken as experimental materials which treated with methyl jasmonate (MeJA) at 10μmol/L (10% methanol as solvent) , and the effect of the chemical on benzenebpropane metabolic in tissues of fresh-cut lettuce and cabbage were studied. The results showed that MeJA treatment increased PAL (phenylalanin ammonia-lyase) activity of fresh-cut lettuce and cabbage effectively, and also enhanced the content of total phenol, flavonoids and lignin. It was considered that MeJA could be used as signal molecule to induce the synthesis of polyphenol of benzene propane metabolic pathway to enhance the repair ability by itself and the resistance of fresh-cut lettuce and cabbage.
