Abstract
Objective:To observe effect of Pseudostellaria heterophylla polysaccharides on anti-oxidation capacity and pancreatic pathology diabetic rats. Methods:The experimental diabetic mice model were established by alloxan 90mg/kg iv. Pseudostellaria heterophylla polysaccharides were administered at the doses of 0.375, 0.75 , 1.5g/kg for 3 weeks. The serum superoxidedismutase (SOD) activities and malondialdehyde (MDA) contents were determined and the pancreatic pathology was observed microscopically. Results:Pseudostellaria heterophylla polysaccharides could sgnificanty increase SOD activities and decrease MDA contents. The pathological damage in diabetic mice was alleviated. Conclusion:Pseudostellaria heterophylla polysaccharides could probably improve anti-oxidation capacity and pancreatic pathology in diabetic mice.
