Comparative study on extraction technology of limonoids from citrus seeds

  • The extraction technology of limonoids from Xin Hui citrus seed in two ways:organic solent extraction method and hydrotropic extraction method was studied. The result showed that the optimum conditions of organic solent extraction method for limonoids extraction were extracting time 3. 2h, 68. 2℃ of the temperature and the ratio of material to liquid was 1∶ 64. 8. Under these conditions, the yield was 4. 97mg/g. The optimum conditions of hydrotropic extraction method were:extracting time 5. 6h, 51. 8℃ of the temperature, the ratio of material to liquid was 1∶ 8 and 2mol/L of sodium salicylate (Na-Sal) . Under these conditions, the yield was 5. 19mg/g. Compared these two methods, hydrotropic extraction method had a higher yield, but more complicated operation. Organic solent extraction method had a lower yield, but simple operation.
