Competitive immunoassay by capillary electrophoresis with laser-induced fluorescence for the detection of carbaryl and compared with ELISA

  • A competitive immunoassay was developed using capillary electrophoresis (CEIA) for the determination of carbaryl.The hapten of carbaryl was labeled with fluorescence as tracer.Using CEIA, equilibrium was reached in 30min and the analytical results were obtained within 5min.The linear range and the detection limit for carbaryl were 0.16~50ng/mL and 0.05ng/mL, respectively.As compared with enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) , the method was proposed as a rapid and more sensitive assay for the trace detection of carbaryl.
